The council will ask the Cabinet to try a Citizens Assembly for next year’s budget, consider the other ideas raised at the meeting, and have a list of realistic savings ready before the Cabinet meets on 11 February.

The Committee resolved to recommend to Cabinet that it explore a Citizens Assembly approach for the next year’s budget process, consider other suggestions made during the meeting, and present the final list of workable saving proposals well before the Cabinet meeting on 11 February.
