Alison Bulman

Alison (Ali) Bulman is the Strategic Director for Safe and Caring Communities at Cornwall Council, a role she took up in summer 2022. Her directorate prioritises care for older people and vulnerable citizens with long-term conditions and oversees the Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service.

Before joining Cornwall Council, she served as Director of Social Services at Powys County Council in Wales from 2018, where she led a transformation of children's services that had previously faced criticism. She was inspired to work in social care at a young age after volunteering in a care home.

Her mission at Cornwall has been to recover and reset adult social care services, addressing obstacles that impede service delivery to local residents.
